Reflection

The objective of this assignment was to take photos of different textures. The items I chose to show different textures were a basketball, ice, pillow, aluminum foil, woven basket, "string" dry wall, and a shaggy duster. I think I was successful in creating a tactile sense in these photos. I am pleased with my double exposures because it is easy to see both textures within the photos. To create these photos, I chose the filter I thought combined the two photos best and then increased the exposure and contrast in Lightroom to make the photos clearer and brighter. I am pleased with my double exposure in one area as well because I think it blends well and is not too prominent. I also enjoyed editing it because I used the magnetic lasso tool which I had never used before. I like how the David Hockney image turned out but I wish I had chosen an image with more color and not all the same textures. I think it is a bit difficult to see where I used the filters because of how the foreground and background is almost all the same color. Although, I still enjoyed editing it and think the end result was successful. My favorite image is the double exposure with the texture added into one certain area because I think it makes the picture more interesting and I liked editing that one the most.
